Power BI Financial Dashboards

Executive, P&L, margin, cash and operational dashboards built by FP&A professionals — designed around the decisions management makes, not around the data that happened to be available.

Most dashboards fail for a finance reason, not a technical one

Plenty of businesses have dashboards. Fewer have dashboards that change a decision. The usual failure is that the report was built from the data that was easy to connect rather than from the questions management needs answered, so it shows a great deal and explains very little.

A financial dashboard is only as good as the model behind it. If cost allocation, product hierarchy and margin definitions are unresolved, a visualisation layer will present the confusion faster and more attractively.

What Finviq provides

  • An executive summary view: revenue, margin, EBITDA, cash and the small set of KPIs that actually govern the business.
  • Management P&L with period comparison and variance explanation.
  • Margin and profitability views by customer, product, SKU and channel.
  • Gross profit and EBITDA bridge visuals that decompose movements by driver.
  • Working capital, receivables ageing and a 13-week cash forecast view.
  • Operational dashboards where relevant — OTIF, fill rate, and loss-tree style views for manufacturing.
  • A documented data model so the numbers reconcile to the accounts and definitions stay stable.

How the work is sequenced

The model comes first. Finviq maps source systems, agrees definitions, builds the margin and cost structure, and validates that outputs tie back to the financial statements. Only then is the reporting layer designed.

Dashboard design follows a consistent pattern: a headline answer, the drivers behind it, and a management insight explaining what happened, why, what it implies and what to consider. Interactivity is used to let a reader follow a question down a level — not to give them fifty filters and no conclusion.

You can explore an illustrative Finviq model before engaging. All sample dashboards use illustrative, representative data.

Decisions this service supports

  • Faster monthly review meetings, because the pack answers the obvious follow-up questions in advance.
  • Consistent board and lender reporting that does not need rebuilding each period.
  • Commercial reviews grounded in contribution rather than revenue.
  • Earlier detection of margin and cash movements, because the view refreshes with the data.

Who it is appropriate for

Businesses whose reporting has outgrown spreadsheets, teams already using Power BI who want the finance model behind it done properly, and companies that need one version of the numbers shared across finance, commercial and operations.
